Museo de la Nacion

Most of the museum is closed til August, but there was a small exhibition of artistic representations of potatoes. This is an artist's sculpture of a special offering to the gods. Carved images of chuno, or freeze dried potatoes, are lying with coca leaves on a red and white blanket, the colors of the Peruvian flag. One of the potatoes is gold, this represents the treasure of Peru, Peruvian national heritage.
